Is it really free? Do I need an account?
Everything is free with no sign-up and no login. There is no payment step and no paywalled "full result". Enter your birth date and time and you get the whole chart at once: the Four Pillars, Five Elements, Ten Gods, Yongsin, and the Major, Annual and Monthly Fortune cycles. Running costs are covered by ads.
What if I do not know my birth time?
You can still get a reading. Select "time unknown" and the analysis runs on three pillars (year, month, day) instead of four. Keep in mind the hour pillar accounts for two of the eight characters and carries much of the reading about later life and children, so the depth differs from a chart that includes it. If a family member can confirm the hour, it is worth asking.
Can I use a lunar calendar birthday? What about leap months?
Choose the lunar option and the date is converted to the solar calendar automatically. Leap months are supported through a separate checkbox. Chinese metaphysics divides years and months by solar terms, so an accurate reading requires converting to solar dates and solar term timings first. That conversion is handled for you.
What does a Four Pillars chart actually tell me?
Your birth year, month, day and hour each become two characters, a Heavenly Stem and an Earthly Branch, giving eight characters in total. The balance of the Five Elements across those eight characters, and the ways they support or clash with each other, is what the reading draws on: innate temperament, environments that suit you, and the rhythm of different life periods. It is better understood as a framework for self-reflection than as a fixed prediction.
What is Yongsin and why does it matter?
Yongsin is the element that restores balance in your chart. It is determined by first judging whether the day stem is strong or weak, then applying the reinforce-or-restrain method; charts skewed toward heat, cold, dryness or damp also consult the Qiong Tong Bao Jian seasonal table, and two elements locked in conflict call for a mediating element. Knowing your Yongsin gives you practical direction: favourable directions, colours, seasons and types of work. It is also the area where schools disagree most, so treat it as guidance rather than a fixed answer.
How accurate is the calendar calculation?
The eight characters and the start of the Major Fortune cycle are delegated to a well-established library that is treated as the de facto standard for this kind of calendar work, and lunar conversion is handled by a separate library and cross-checked against it. Over 1,300 automated checks run on every code change, covering the tricky cases: solar term boundaries, late-night hour handling, leap months and century boundaries. If a result looks wrong to you, send the birth details and it will be investigated.
Can I save or send my result?
The result page URL carries your birth details, so sending the link shows the recipient the same result. You can also save a summary card as an image or use print to keep a PDF. The birth details you enter are never stored on a server; they are used for the calculation inside your browser only.
Is compatibility included?
Yes. Near the bottom of the result page you can enter a second person's birth details for a compatibility score out of 100. It scores the day stem relationship, harmony and clash between day branches, elemental balance, and month and year branch pairings, and also weighs three-way and directional combinations, Ten Gods relationships, and whether the two charts complement each other's Yongsin.
This analysis is reference information based on traditional Ming Li astrology and must not be used as the basis for medical, legal, or financial decisions. Life is ultimately shaped by your own choices and effort.
